Fix door latch embly?

you want to move the latch, not the door lock tongue. I would use lipstick and mark the tongue, and then strike the latch at the jam and see where it is hitting. You can either move or file away some material depending how small it is. You have to move it, then take out the latch and insert with glue golf tees in the old screw holes. Let them dry and then relocate and drill new location. The lipstick trick will also work to locate the tongue to the latch. Some doors shift in time and if you have kids, they loved to hang on the door knob for a E ticket ride.
